How Do Our Cordless Blinds Work?

Traditionally, blinds have always had cords that control the openness of your window treatment or the height at which you raise them. Unfortunately, corded blinds can create a long list of safety hazards related to small children and pets. That’s why our team at WTI Inc. is proud to comply with the revised ANSI/WCMA Window Covering Safety Standard, which, as of June 1, 2024, specifies that all blinds made in the United States of America must be cordless to prevent these safety concerns.

That’s right, all of the blinds you’ll find at WTI Inc. are cordless. If you’re wondering how cordless blinds work and how to pull down blinds without strings, we’ll break down the innovative ways to control our selection of Hunter Douglas blinds with absolutely no cords.

Cord-Free Operation Systems and How They Work

Our Hunter Douglas products have many types of cordless modern operation systems. From smart home integrated and hands-free control to wands, you can customize your blinds with easy and intuitive cordless systems.

Confirm with your WTI Inc. window treatment expert what operation systems are available for each blind style, as they can vary.

Smart Automated

PowerView® Automation is a highly popular cordless, motorized operation system for a reason. This award-winning system makes your life more convenient than ever when you integrate it with your existing smart home system.

You can use the Pebble® Remote, the PowerView® App, or the PowerView® Gateways to use voice controls for opening and closing your blinds.

Motorized Wand

Another motorized option available is our motorized wands. With this cordless operation option, you can adjust your blinds with the SoftTouch® Motorization system by making a single pull or push.

Beaded Loop

If you’re a fan of manual operation, this might be the ideal choice. The beaded loop operation system offers you a more traditional blind adjustment but with less excess cord to reduce the risk of safety issues for small children and pets.

Just pull on the beaded loop for easy control of your blinds.

Push/Pull

The LiteRise® system is ideal for smaller windows. You can easily adjust the slats yourself with a push upward or a pull downward. A wand is used for tilting the slats.

Push-Button

If you prefer to push a button to adjust your blinds, this may be your ideal operation system. You may raise or lower your window blinds with a button press with the SimpleLift™ system. The wand is used for tilting the blinds’ slats.

Retractable Wand

If you like a wand, the UltraGlide® wand is simple and intuitive. It adds minimal hardware to your window and is yet another easy way to adjust your blinds.

It remains a constant length when raising and lowering your window treatments, with no dangling cords.
